The Adopt-For-Life Center For Animals (formerly the Verde Valley Humane Society) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to the care and support of animals. All donations to the Center are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
Our adoption facilities are located at 1520 West Mingus Avenue in Cottonwood, Arizona; or about one mile west of State Route 89A, past the Cottonwood Municipal Airport.

The Humane Society was originally formed in 1982 by a group of dedicated individuals with a desire to help animals however, it wasn't until March 31st, 1986 hat groundbreaking for the original shelter took place, with the grand opening following on August 2nd, 1986.
In the 20 plus years that followed, the community grew tremendously, but the shelter did not! Then in late 2009 ground was broken for Phase 1 of the construction of new facilities. We moved in to the new structure in March of 2010, and had an official ribbon cutting ceremony April 16th of the same year.
The Center is currently served by a board of seven directors, with 10 to 12 staff members and innumerable volunteers.
